Nico’s stunning strike sent City into a record fourth successive FA Cup final after a thrilling last-four clash.
Both teams were goalless at the break but the Blues stepped up in the second half with Omar Marmoush and Rayan Cherki going close.
But Saints stole an unlikely lead when Finn Azaz hit a wonderful strike into the top corner with just over 10 minutes remaining.
Jeremy Doku struck a quick equaliser before Nico’s rocket settled the tie in the 87th minute.
