Loan spell of Arsenal player Ethan Nwaneri at Marseille has now hit a setback. This comes as a result of warnings from Marseille boss Habib Beye over Ethan’s commitment at the club.
Doubts arise over commitment of Ethan Nwaneri at Marseille
As per reports, Arsenal loanee Ethan Nwaneri has received warnings from Marseille boss Habib Beye. In this case, his day to day commitment in training at the club is in doubts. Marseille are currently going through an injury crisis in attacking areas.
Still, Nwaneri has failed to get regular playing time under Beye. The 19 year old attacker was left out of the starting lineup in their game against OGC Nice. This pointed out that the manager prefers players who show intensity and commitment in the training.
Habib Beye explained this decision while talking to the media. In this case, he said that reputation alone will not be enough to get picked in his starting side. Also, he answered questions regarding Ethan Nwaneri. He said, “***He’s a quality player, but he has to give us way more in his day-to-day commitment. Other players gave way more.***” Thus, telling us that he values the quality of Nwaneri. However, also pointing out that he needs to work hard in training to get picked in the team.

Meanwhile, this situation is a big shift. Ethan Nwaneri joined Marseille on a loan spell from the Gunners. The decision of benching him is not because of his performances. It is because of what the coaching staff observe day to day on the training pitch. In this case, Beye’s comments were direct. It shows us how important it is for the players to be committed on the training ground. Also, it tells us that talent alone is not enough. The players need to work hard and try to improve every day to play at the highest level.
