Erling Haaland expects Manchester City to be even stronger next season – and is excited to be part of it.

Pep Guardiola’s side have looked off the pace at times this campaign but are once again finishing in impressive fashion and could yet win a domestic treble.

Haaland cited the changes in personnel over the last year for City’s dips, with Gianluigi Donnarumma, Marc Guehi, Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Cherki and Antoine Semenyo among those arriving, while Ederson, Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan departed.

“It’s been a lot of change now the last couple of years, I would say in the last year,” the Norwegian told ESPN.

“There’s been lots of players that have been here for a long time. So, with new players, it takes time. It’s not easy to come into a new league for someone, new country, all of this. It takes time to adapt.”

Haaland, who signed a 10-year contract at the Etihad last January, once again tops the Premier League scoring charts.

He shrugged off any talk of a potential move elsewhere, saying: “I’m super happy and I’m looking forward to what’s next because I think it’s exciting times for City as a club and also me as a player. I’m looking forward to continuing with City.”

City are on a six-match winning streak and face Everton next in the Premier League on Monday.
