Former Arsenal midfielder Mauro Bandeira is back training with the club’s academy as he searches for a new team.

Bandeira, who left Arsenal in 2024, has been a free agent since last summer when he departed Slovenian club Tabor Sezana.

The 22-year-old is the latest former academy player to return to Arsenal for training – Tyreece John-Jules did so earlier this season before securing a move to Kilmarnock.

Bandeira joined Arsenal in 2018 and played over 40 times for the club at U18 level, while he also made 28 appearances for the U21s.

There was first-team involvement too for Bandeira, who was named on the bench for Mikel Arteta’s side on five occasions but didn’t play.

Meanwhile, defender Will Sweet is also back training with Arsenal following the conclusion of his loan spell with Dagenham & Redbridge.
