The summer transfer window is approaching, and Chelsea will not only be looking for a new manager but also new players. The latest name to be linked with the Blues is Ajax attacker Mika Godts.
All the focus at Chelsea right now will be on picking Liam Rosenior’s successor and making sure they get it right. But the Blues also need to make some additions in the transfer market in the coming months.
Do you think Chelsea should have parted with Enzo Maresca?🤔

Out wide, Chelsea have many options. The incoming arrival of Geovany Quenda takes Chelsea’s options on the flanks to five, alongside Jamie Gittens, Estevao Willian, Pedro Neto and Alejandro Garnacho.
But Gittens has struggled with hamstring injuries this season, and Garnacho has struggled since his move from Man United. Quenda is still unproven. A new winger could be considered and Godts is an option.
Chelsea to send scouts to watch Mika Godts on Saturday
Still only 20, Godts has sparkled for Ajax this season. So much so, that he has won two Belgium caps and looks a good shout to go to the World Cup. In 39 games, Godts has had a hand in 29 goals and assists.
That form, and specifically those numbers, has put him on the radar of Europe’s biggest clubs. Indeed, no player in the Eredivisie has created more chances than former Genk winger Godts this season.

According to Dutch outlet Voetbal Primeur, plenty of scouts will be in attendance to watch Godts as Ajax take on PSV Eindhoven. The report says Arsenal, Chelsea, and Barcelona scouts will watch on.
But they are not the only sides interested. Indeed, the report claims Man United, Man City and Bayern Munich have placed Godts on their summer list. Godts has a contract at Ajax until the summer of 2029.
Mika Godts has already been warned against joining Liverpool
There is an inevitability in the Netherlands that Godts will far exceed the Eredivisie in his career, and a big club from Europe’s top-five leagues will sign him. When he makes the move, though, remains to be seen.
DISCUSS: BlueCo must leave for Chelsea to be successful again…
Or is there a future with BlueCo at Chelsea?
Dutch football journalist Valentijn Driessen told the Kick Off podcast that it would be a foolish move to join Liverpool this summer. He warned Godts patience is key, and does not need to jump immediately.
“He’s Ajax’s best player right now…Where is his ceiling? Far above the Eredivisie, but he needs to make progress. You shouldn’t put him at Liverpool now. That won’t help. Cody Gakpo is struggling there.”
But if Godts does move, it is easy to imagine Chelsea will be in the mix. According to TransferMarkt, Godts is looked after by RGM, the same agency that represents former Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
