Liverpool scouted a player who's now outperforming Lamine Yamal and Michael Olise in key area this season

Liverpool could be on the lookout for a new left-back in the summer with Andy Robertson departing, and one of their targets is having an excellent season.

Robertson’s Anfield career will come to an end after 2025/26, leaving Milos Kerkez as the only recognised senior option right now.

Kostas Tsimikas’ future remains up in the air ahead of the Greek returning from his loan spell with AS Roma, while Liverpool have already made checks on David Raum, who is outperforming some big names this season.

You can only pick ONE player for Liverpool to sign this summer, who is it?

David Raum among Europe’s best for key passes in 2025/26

According to WhoScored, Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has made the most key passes per 90 in Europe’s top five leagues this season (3.7).

Fernandes could be competing with Dominik Szoboszlai for the Premier League Player of the Season soon.

Meanwhile, Liverpool target Raum, who it was reported Reds scouts watched in action against Borussia Monchengladbach earlier this month, has the second-most key passes of any player per 90 (3.2).

There are also a couple of other notable names in the top 10, including Liverpool-linked Michael Olise, who sits fifth with 2.6 per 90, and FC Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal (also 2.6).

It remains to be seen if Liverpool will push ahead with their interest in Raum, who has three goals and six assists in 29 Bundesliga matches this term.

But they could, especially now that Alexander Isak is back in the side as the main focal point of the attack, use more players capable of picking out key passes every game.

At present, Mohamed Salah, who is leaving Anfield at the end of 2025/26, has made the joint-most key passes per 90 of any Reds star in the Premier League this season (1.9).

Dominik Szoboszlai and Florian Wirtz have also managed the same number of key passes as the Egyptian.

Elsewhere, Cody Gakpo (1.5) and Alexis Mac Allister (0.9) round out the top five.
