The brass at La Liga giants Real Madrid have drawn up a shortlist of targets to take over on the club’s bench for next season.
And amongst the frontrunners for the post is ex-Blancos headmaster José Mourinho.
Álvaro Arbeloa is of course currently in charge of Real Madrid, after taking over on a temporary basis following the dismissal of Xabi Alonso back in January.
Amid a poor run of recent form for Los Blancos, though, the decision has already been taken not to extend Arbeloa’s first-team stint beyond the summer.
A major call is therefore awaiting Florentino Pérez and co. ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
And as alluded to above, on Tuesday, a fresh insight into the situation in the Bernabéu boardroom has been forthcoming online.
As per a report from market insider Fabrizio Romano:
‘José Mourinho remains keen on Real Madrid return as reported two weeks ago. Florentino Pérez will decide personally; Mourinho among 4 candidates for the job.’
