Fabrizio Romano has suggested that Liverpool’s Curtis Jones could find himself leaving the club this summer.

The 25-year-old academy graduate has found himself at a genuine crossroads this season, starting just 13 Premier League games under Arne Slot.

His contract situation is only adding fuel to the fire. Jones is currently tied to Liverpool until the summer of 2027, meaning this coming window represents the last realistic chance for the club to command any meaningful transfer fee – or risk watching him walk out the door on a free.

It is a situation that has not gone unnoticed across Europe. Back in January, Inter Milan made a concrete move to sign Jones, initially pushing for a loan deal with an obligation to buy. Liverpool, however, dug their heels in, insisting that any exit would only be sanctioned if Jones first agreed to a contract extension.

Tottenham were also circling at the same time. Now, Fabrizio Romano claimed that Inter remain interested ahead of the summer window.

Speaking on his YouTube channel on Thursday, Romano has suggested that are “concrete” chances of Curtis Jones leaving Anfield this summer – and that the 25-year-old may look at Scott McTominay’s renaissance in Serie A as possible motivation for a move to Inter Milan:

“The possibility of Curtis Jones leaving Liverpool in the summer transfer window is absolutely concrete. There are possibilities. There is the chance to see Curtis Jones leaving. Inter in Italy wanted him in January and remain interested in the player, according to my sources,” Romano said.

“There are also clubs in England interested but Italy could be an appealing destination for Curtis Jones to be sort of, just to give you a context and example, the new McTominay.

“Scott McTominay was in England a squad player at Man United. He became one of the best players in Serie A. Eventually, Curtis Jones could consider to try do the same with Inter but at the moment still nothing advanced, nothing agreed so still early stages.”

For a player who has given everything to the club since joining the academy as a nine-year-old, it would be a bittersweet farewell. But at 25, with his peak years ahead of him and a growing queue of suitors at the door, the time may have finally come for both parties to move on.
