Atletico suffered a 4-0 defeat at the Emirates during the league phase and have triumphed in just two of their last 12 UEFA fixtures against English clubs, though they boast a formidable home record against English opponents. Arsenal have secured seven consecutive Champions League victories against Spanish opposition, yet Atletico eliminated them in the 2017-18 Europa League semi-finals.
