England and Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton remains a transfer target for Liverpool after impressing this season.

The Reds monitored the 22-year-old during the weekend’s 3-1 win and were pleased with his display. He is highly rated by the club’s recruitment team as they look to strengthen Arne Slot’s midfield this summer.

Interest is widespread, with Manchester United, Manchester City and Real Madrid also tracking him. As exclusively revealed by DaveOCKOP, Adam Wharton is understood to favour a move to Liverpool over other interested clubs.

The midfielder has enjoyed a standout season with Crystal Palace, recording a career-best assist tally and playing a key role in their run to the UEFA Europa Conference League semi-finals.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Wharton said he is ignoring transfer noise despite growing interest ahead of the summer. He said: “Obviously the praise is good and being linked with big clubs it’s obviously a compliment in a way.”

“As much praise as you get, there’s also the other side of it where other people don’t think you are doing very well or other clubs don’t want you because they don’t like this thing about you.

“I don’t really pay attention to it. I know that I’m doing well. The coach will tell me. To them, they’re the ones who can have the biggest impact on me and help me develop my career. The outside ones, I don’t really focus on it. I just try to focus on myself. ”

Adam Wharton is approaching the end of his second full season at Crystal Palace, but speculation is growing over a potential summer move.

Curtis Jones is entering the final year of his deal and attracting interest from Inter Milan, while doubts remain over Alexis Mac Allister. Wataru Endo will also have just 12 months left on his contract, increasing the likelihood of midfield changes.

Wharton’s situation could mirror that of Declan Rice, who left West Ham United for Arsenal in a £105million move in 2023 after winning the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Comfortable as a No. 6, Wharton offers defensive stability and progressive passing – qualities suited to elite-level football. With Ryan Gravenberch struggling for consistency, a new deep-lying midfielder could be a priority.

Any deal may be complicated by a sell-on clause from Blackburn Rovers, who are entitled to 15% of any fee above £22million. Wharton has made 45 appearances and provided seven assists for Oliver Glasner’s side across all competitions.
