Mohamed Salah has turned Old Trafford into one of his favourite stages as a Liverpool player.
The Egyptian has scored 10 goals in nine Liverpool appearances at Man United’s home turf. He is the only visiting player to score a Premier League hat-trick at Old Trafford, and he also became the first player to score in five straight Premier League away games against United.
Salah’s hamstring injury against Palace means he is robbed of one final masterclass against Liverpool’s bitter rivals. Still, with that massive fixture on the horizon, it feels like a good time to celebrate some other — admittedly less devastating — Old Trafford specialists.

Liverpool players who have haunted Man United at Old Trafford
Steven Gerrard
Steven Gerrard produced some memorable Liverpool moments at Old Trafford.
His penalty in the 4-1 win of 2009 was followed by the famous camera kiss — a celebration that became part of derby folklore. He then scored twice from the spot in the 3-0 win there in 2014, and even missed another penalty that would have completed a hat-trick.

Gerrard did not always win there, but he understood the size of the fixture better than most. When Liverpool needed a cool head in that pressure environment, he was often the one who provided it.
Danny Murphy
Danny Murphy may be the purest Old Trafford specialist Liverpool have had.
MORE LIVERPOOL STORIES
He scored the winner in three separate 1-0 Liverpool victories away at Manchester United, first with a free-kick in 2000, then with a late finish in 2002, and finally with a penalty in 2004.

For a player who was never the biggest name in Liverpool’s midfield, Murphy built a remarkable personal record in this fixture. Three visits, three decisive goals, three United defeats.
Fernando Torres
Fernando Torres only needed one standout Old Trafford moment to earn his place here.
In 2009, he bullied Nemanja Vidic in a way very few strikers ever managed. Torres scored Liverpool’s equaliser in the 4-1 win, pouncing on a mistake from the United defender before finishing with typical calm.
Vidic was later sent off for fouling Gerrard, and Torres had already done the damage by then.

Liverpool’s dominance of United in recent years has been nothing short of joyful, but it’s the visitors who come into the tie chasing this time around. They’re three points ahead in third place, and the opportunity is there to overtake them.
With Salah out, it will need to be a new name who steps up in one of Liverpool’s biggest fixtures on the calendar.
