Alisson Becker has been linked with a summer departure from Liverpool, despite the club activating a one-year extension on his contract earlier this year, keeping him at Anfield until June 2027.

The Brazil international, currently out with a muscle injury, has attracted interest from Juventus, who are reportedly monitoring a potential return to Serie A.

The speculation comes as Liverpool prepare for major changes, with Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson both set to leave at the end of the season.

Reports from Paul Joyce of The Times suggest Liverpool still value the goalkeeper highly internally, but his future is now part of broader discussions about the club’s long-term direction.

Joyce wrote: “There is renewed doubt over how long Alisson will remain at Anfield. When, in mid-March, it emerged that the club had triggered an option to extend the 33-year-old’s contract by a further 12 months, it felt as though certainty had been brought to his situation.

“In the weeks since, Juventus’s interest in signing him has hardened to the point where several sources in Italy indicate that Alisson is receptive to the prospect of moving to Turin on a longer-term deal.

“There is a rider that he wants to respect Liverpool and, by doing so, that places the ball firmly in the club’s court should a firm offer arrive designed to take him back to Serie A.”

Last week, Arne Slot admitted that Liverpool could face a decision over the future of Alisson this summer amid ongoing transfer interest in the goalkeeper.

Slot said: “I think the club is run in a certain way and we make decisions that the club thinks are in the best interests of the club. And it could mean this is the reason why.

“It could mean another good argument why we acted how we acted. “I think the history of all the transfers shows that nothing was done without a purpose or without thinking about it.

“Look, the people who make these decisions take everything into account. They try to make the best decisions with the interest of the club.

“It (experience) is definitely one argument to keep him but there are other arguments. That is a decision the club has to make if that is needed. In the end, he still has one year.”

Alisson Becker has been increasingly affected by hamstring issues in recent seasons, with Liverpool managing his fitness carefully.

The Brazil international has missed the last seven games, during which he has been covered by Giorgi Mamardashvili and then Freddie Woodman. Liverpool are hopeful Alisson will return in time for Sunday’s trip to Manchester United at Old Trafford.
