Mikel Arteta faces the media after his Arsenal side’s frustrating draw at Atletico Madrid. Some questionable decisions will certainly be a theme of the press conference.
In what was no doubt one of The Gunners’ best halves of the season so far, Viktor Gyokeres was the standout player. The Swede both won and scored the penalty that gave Arsenal the lead in a half where they were the better side, forcing mistakes from Atleti and creating chances.
That all changed as the second period began. Julian Alvarez scored a penalty of his own after Ben White was deemed to have committed a handball. Antoine Griezmann then struck the post with a looping effort.
Arteta will certainly be asked on the decision to overturn a penalty call which Eberechi Eze was almost certain he had won.
