Liverpool and Man United team news ahead of the Premier League fixture at Old Trafford.
Liverpool prepare for one of the biggest games of their season when they face Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday (3.30pm BST).
The Reds make the short trip across the East Lancs against the backdrop of three successive Premier League wins - most recently a 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace. As a result, Liverpool have moved to fourth in the table and have one hand on Champions League qualification as they sit eight points ahead of sixth-placed Brighton.
And a triumph over United would see Liverpool leapfrog their fierce foes into third spot. But United have been in excellent form since Michael Carrick took over as manager, having taken 29 points in 13 games. United earned a 2-1 win against Brentford earlier this week.
The bragging rights will be on the line, with Liverpool suffering a 2-1 loss to the Red Devils at Anfield earlier in the campaign.
Ahead of the clash, here’s a look at the early team news for both sides.
Man Utd team news
Matheus Cunha - minor doubt
The forward did not feature against Brentford because of a hip flexor issue. Carrick was not overly concerned so Cunha could be back.
Lisandro Martinez - out
The centre-back is serving a three-match ban.
Matthijs de Ligt - out
The defender is sidelined because of a back injury.
Liverpool team news
Hugo Ekitike - out
A ruptured Achilles suffered in the Champions League loss to PSG earlier this month means that the striker may miss the rest of the year.
Giorgi Mamardashvili - out
The No.2 goalkeeper continues to recovery from a nasty wound suffered during
Wataru Endo - out
The midfielder continues to recover from an ankle injury suffered two months ago. Slot is hopeful that Endo could make a return to action in the final couple of games.
Conor Bradley - out
The right-back is still on the comeback trail from a serious knee injury.
Giovanni Leoni - out
The centre-back is back training on the grass for his ACL injury but will not be rushed back into action.
Jayden Danns - out
The striker is still on the mend for a hamstring injury and Slot has admitted that Danns is unlikely to be ready for Premier League action this season.
Stefan Bajcetic - out
The midfielder has not made a single appearance at any level this season because of a hamstring injury.
Alisson Becker - minor doubt
The No.1 goalkeeper has missed the past seven games because of a hamstring problem. Slot admitted before the Palace game that Alisson was close to a return, so there is a good chance he’s back between the posts at Old Trafford.
Mo Salah - major doubt
The winger was forced off with a hamstring injury against Palace. Given the World Cup takes place this summer, Salah will not want to put himself at risk of missing out.
