Liverpool eye Eirik Granaas as Premier League race grows

Liverpool are among the clubs showing interest in Fredrikstad midfielder Eirik Granaas.

Chelsea and Newcastle United are said to be in the race, while Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have been mentioned too.

Granaas is only 16, but he has already started to feature at senior level in Norway and is earning comparisons to Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard.

The midfielder would not be able to move internationally until 2028 because of FIFA rules, so this is a long-term plan rather than an immediate first-team deal. The Reds need a midfielder for the here and now — a quality one is agitating for an exit from his current club.

Mateus Fernandes tipped to leave West Ham after Liverpool interest

Mateus Fernandes is a midfielder ready to make a difference at a Premier League level.

Liverpool have been credited with interest in Fernandes, and Jan Molby has now claimed he expects Fernandes to leave this summer regardless of what happens to the Hammers.

The 21-year-old has impressed in a difficult season, contributing five goals and four assists in 38 appearances.

He is mobile, technically strong and aggressive with his passing, which is exactly the kind of profile Liverpool could use more of.

With midfield looking like a much-needed position this summer, Fernandes feels like another option who should stay on the shortlist.

Curtis Jones contract situation remains unresolved

Curtis Jones’ future is an area of immediate concern at Liverpool.

The midfielder is under contract until 2027, but Fabrizio Romano has said he is not aware of any ongoing negotiations over a new deal.

Inter Milan are still very interested after making Jones their main midfield target in January. They were unable to convince Liverpool then, but Romano has claimed mutual interest still exists heading into the summer.
