Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott has insisted that former Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton should be playing for one of the best clubs in the world.
Morton has excelled at Lyon since leaving Liverpool last year having been denied opportunities by Arne Slot.
And according to Scott, who is having his own excellent season with the Cherries, the 23-year-old is already an ‘unbelievable’ player who could get even better.

Scott hails ‘unbelievable’ Morton
Though there are many Liverpool fans who feel their club made a mistake in letting Morton go, it was clear that he simply was not going to play under Slot.
The £15m fee they banked from Lyon looked like decent business at the time, but after going on to play a starring role for Paulo Fonseca’s side, it is beginning to look more and more like a bargain.
For Scott, having played with Morton at England U21s level, he knows exactly how good the former Liverpool academy player is, and has now told The Athletic that he really should be a regular starter for ‘one of the top teams in the world.’
“I think it was a great decision for him (to leave Liverpool for Lyon), he is smashing it at the minute,” he said. “He’s an unbelievable player.”

“I think Liverpool fans saw that years ago when he was bossing it at the San Siro. He didn’t really get his opportunity last year. Obviously, it was tough in a team that was doing so well going for the league.
“In his head, I think it was time to move on and play first-team football,” Scott added.
“He was playing a lot of 21s football as well, but a player of his standard needs to be playing week in, week out, for one of the top teams in the world. I speak to him quite a lot, he is an unbelievable guy. I’m so, so happy that he’s doing so well.“
Liverpool do not have a buyback clause on Morton, but if he continues to do well with Lyon for another year or two, it is easy to see the Reds coming back in to sign him. That is, of course, if another big-hitter doesn’t take a chance on him first.
