Beto has been pictured back in training with his Everton team-mates ahead of their penultimate home game of the season against Manchester City on Monday.
Up until the , the Blues’ number nine was one of just three players - along with fellow striker Thierno Barry and midfielder - to have featured in every fixture this season for David Moyes’ men. However, despite netting seven goals since the turn of the calendar year, including four in his last three matches, the 28-year-old was ruled out of the trip to the London Stadium.
After firing level in the historic first Merseyside Derby at , Beto was forced off against Liverpool on 73 minutes having sustained a swelling bellow his eye.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference last Friday for what was his own first return to his previous employers, Moyes confirmed that would miss the game due to concussion.
Also included in the batch of photographs taken at a session at Finch Farm on Monday is 18-year-old forward Braiden Graham, who has been prolific for Everton’s junior sides this season. The prospect from Ballygowan in Northern Ireland has scored 21 goals in 31 games for the Blues’ Under-21s and Under-18s teams this term.
Speaking last month ahead of Everton U21s Premier League International Cup quarter-final against Borussia Dortmund at Walton Hall Park, manager Paul Tait told the ECHO: “Everybody in the academy has been impressed with his mentality. The way he trains, he’s first on the pitch and last off.
“He’s desperate to do individual stuff and get better. He’s desperate to improve his weaknesses, is humble and works hard.
“He’s a good character. Not just the talent that you see on the pitch but characteristics we try to instil in the boys in terms of humility and seeing the goodness in teamwork and Braiden has embraced that since he came over from Ireland.
“The reality for Braiden is that next season, hopefully he’s in and around our first team. If he impresses and has a good pre-season, it’s up to him then and he’ll probably be looking for a loan as that will be the next stage of his journey.”
