Arne Slot 'isn't convinced' by Liverpool star signed last summer, now eyeing replacement -…

Liverpool manager Arne Slot is reportedly not convinced by one of his signings from last summer, according to Football Insider.

It was an incredibly expensive summer transfer window in 2025 for Liverpool, bringing in a host of new additions after winning the Premier League title.

Liverpool have had mixed results from their signings, and there's no doubt all of them are yet to reach their full potential at Anfield.

As a result of their new signings struggling to varying degrees, Slot's side have endured a difficult campaign, falling short of the title race.

The Merseyside club will be looking to go again in the summer transfer window, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see a host of players heading through the exit door.

Liverpool Eyeing Replacement for Summer Signing

According to a report from Football Insider, Liverpool manager Slot isn't convinced by Jeremie Frimpong, who joined the club last summer from Bayer Leverkusen.

"Liverpool are definitely looking to sign a new right-back.

“Frimpong was the one they brought in as the replacement [for Trent Alexander-Arnold], but Slot isn’t convinced by him.

“He’s had injury issues of his own, and when he has been fit, there are midfielders playing at right-back ahead of him and that’s a major concern.

“So they clearly don’t trust him and can’t rely on him, on top of the injury issues, so they will have to go into the market to bring in a replacement.”

Liverpool are unlikely to sell Frimpong in the upcoming window, considering it's so soon after they purchased him, but it certainly wouldn't be a surprise to see them sign another right back.

The Dutch international doesn't entirely suit their system, given he's more of a wing-back than a natural right-back.
