Eni Aluko has landed a new role in football, just two months after appearing to quit broadcasting over her public row with Arsenal legend Ian Wright and the resulting backlash.
The well-documented fallout between the two England legends started in April 2025, when Aluko claimed that Wright had been 'blocking' opportunities for female pundits in the women's game. Unhappy with the accusation that he was 'dominating' the women's game, Wright then refused to accept a public apology when it eventually came.

What Eni Aluko Said About Roy Keane Looks Interesting Now Amid Ian Wright Row
Ian Wright and Roy Keane are known to be close friends, making Eni Aluko's feelings about the latter very interesting now.
The spat was renewed in February 2026 as Aluko took another swipe at the 61-year-old pundit. Her issue this time around was that she and Fara Williams were sitting in the stands at Euro 2025, while Wright and Nedum Onuoha were chosen as pundits for the tournament.

After then getting involved in a social media dispute with Laura Woods and an on-air row with Simon Jordan, the Lioness-turned-pundit appeared to leave behind her career in television. Now, she's back involved in the sport, but it won't be in front of the camera.
An Instagram post confirmed the 39-year-old as the latest addition to CAF's Women's Taskforce. Aluko responded by posting a statement expressing her excitement for the new opportunity. She posted:
"Delighted to join the CAF Women's Taskforce joining forces with a team of expert women across the Continent to elevate African women’s football globally."
The Taskforce aims to elevate African women's football on an international stage and is made up of an expert team of African women.
Aluko appeared to confirm she wouldn't be going back to punditry as a commenter on the post asked her: "No ITV punditry anymore?" She responded with a winking emoji and: "Other football broadcasters are available."

IAN WRIGHT
The source of Aluko's frustrations earlier this year came from Wright's refusal to accept her apology. It prompted the ex-England international to accuse the Premier League legend of not being 'the ally that everybody says he is'. She said in a podcast appearance:
"The reality is we had an opportunity nine months ago to quieten this, to have an adult conversation and talk about our different perspectives.
"When I apologised to Ian Wright publicly and privately he had an opportunity to show the grace and the allyship that he showed to many other people. And to prove that he's the ally that everybody says he is.
"Unfortunately, my sincerity, my humility, was met with disrespect. Where he said, 'I don't accept your apology'. And he green-lit all of these people to pile on."
