Arsenal are fighting on two fronts as the Gunners prepare for the next step in their bid to clinch the Premier League title. Mikel Arteta’s side are set to host Fulham on Saturday, shortly after their Champions League semi-final clash with Atletico Madrid.

Winning the Champions League remains a possibility but Arsenal will now need to ensure they are fully focused on Marco Silva’s side. A similar scenario saw the Gunners lose to Bournemouth between their quarter-final matches with Sporting CP, which handed Manchester City valuable momentum in the title race.

Arteta’s team sit three points above their title rivals but have played a game more. With just four matches to go, Arsenal know they have little room for error during the final run-in and have received a clear message from club legend Thierry Henry.

Meanwhile, one of Henry’s former team-mates Cesc Fabregas has reportedly attracted attention after making a strong start to his managerial career at Como. Here, Mirror Football looks at some of the stories surrounding the Gunners.

Thierry Henry sends Arsenal message

Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry has instructed his old club to embrace the challenge of competing for two major trophies. The Gunners top the Premier League table and face a deciding second leg against Atletico Madrid next week.

Arteta’s side left Madrid with a 1-1 draw to step up an intriguing return match at the Emirates Stadium. With Fulham next on the horizon, there is little time to begin dreaming of a potential Champions League final. But Henry has called on the squad to savour their busy schedule.

“I don’t see any issue. I’m not saying it is going to be easy and pleasant because the game again at Newcastle was very difficult,“ Henry told CBS Sports. “But you have the squad to be able to deal with that, so deal with it.”

Arsenal have the opportunity to move six points ahead of City with a win on Saturday. Meanwhile, Guardiola’s side will know how the Gunners have fared when they line up for their trip to Everton on Monday.

Cesc Fabregas 'plan'

Former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas has made an impressive start to management. The 38-year-old took the reins at Italian side Como permanently in 2024 and a potential plan for his future has emerged.

Como currently sit fifth in Serie A and remain in the hunt for a Champions League spot. His impressive work in the dugout has led to links with the vacant Chelsea job.

However, Sky Sports has reported that Fabregas is viewed as a possible Arsenal manager. While there is no suggestion that he could replace Arteta any time soon, he is considered a “long-term” option for the future.

Sky Sports’ Transfer Talk podcast also questioned whether a move to Chelsea would represent “career progression” for Fabregas. The former Spain international played for both clubs, making 303 appearances for the Gunners and playing 198 games for Chelsea.
