Ally McCoist believes England international Marcus Rashford has the attributes to “thrive” if he were to reunite with Premier League football at Arsenal under Mikel Arteta, but has questioned whether a switch to the Emirates Stadium would be the right move for the 28-year-old forward.
In an interview with talkSPORT, McCoist suggested Rashford’s pace, directness and big-game experience could complement ARSENALold talkSPORT Bet Casino. ‘Marcus Rashford could thrive at Arsenal.’
‘They [Arsenal] would have to offload first,’ McCoist added. ‘The right-hand side of the attack, I’m thinking about Madueke, Saka, you throw in Martinelli, Trossard on the left.
‘If I was Marcus Rashford, I’d probably want him to think about staying where I am at the moment.
‘I don’t know what the deal is, Hansi Flick has been very complimentary about him, and he’s done well when he’s come in, goal returns good, assists good. If I’m Marcus Rashford, I’m going to stay where I am. Especially given he’s going to win the league.’
Other Premier League clubs have been linked with Rashford too. Tottenham Hotspur are reported to have a “genuine interest” should Barcelona decide not to proceed with a permanent deal, though any move would likely hinge on Spurs maintaining top-flight status and meeting wage demands.
With Rashford under contract at Manchester United until 2028, the Old Trafford club remain in a position to dictate his future if Barcelona and other suitors fail to agree terms. That uncertainty has fuelled speculation over a summer transfer window reshuffle, where Rashford’s next destination could define the trajectory of his career at a time when the forward is entering his prime
