Liverpool injury news on Mo Salah and Alisson Becker.
Arne Slot has provided a Liverpool injury update on Mo Salah ahead of the showdown against Manchester United.
The Reds face their fierce rivals at Old Trafford on Sunday - and a victory will see them move to third in the table.
Salah is coming to the conclusion of his nine-year Liverpool career, having announced he will depart at the end of the season. He has scored 16 goals against United in his career - more than any other club in his career. But in the 3-1 win over Crystal Palace last weekend, he sustained a hamstring injury.
Salah has a minor injury, but he will miss a final outing against United. The Liverpool boss said: “As we know from Mo, always working incredibly hard. Usually he is earlier fit than other players from a minor injury but not for Sunday.”
No.1 goalkeeper Alisson Becker has missed the past seven games with a hamstring injury. In addition, Giorgi Mamardashvili was absent against Palace because of a deep wound suffered, meaning that third-choice stopper Freddie Woodman was between the posts.
On Alisson potentially retuning, Slot said: “It’s a bonus for every player that comes back. Ali hasn’t trained yet, very close to training so I have to speak to medical staff. He is very close but we, of course, don’t want to take any risks because that’s not what you want for any player.”
Hugo Ekitike (Achilles), Wataru Endo (ankle), Conor Bradley, Giovanni Leoni (both knee), Jayden Danns and Stefan Bajcetic (both hamstring) remain sidelined.
