Arne Slot is hopeful that Milos Kerkez will be fit to feature against Manchester United.

The left-back had to leave a training session earlier this week because of ‘niggles’. Kerkez has primarily been first choice left-back since he moved to Anfield from AFC Bournemouth for £40 million.

However, Kerkez has started the past two games on the bench, with Andy Robertson being preferred in defence.

Liverpool will head to face fierce foes United without Mo Salah, Hugo Ekitike, Wataru Endo, Conor Bradley, Giovanni Leoni, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Jayden Danns and Stefan Bajcetic while No.1 goalkeeper Alisson Becker is doubtful.

And Slot is optimistic that Kerkez will not join his team-mates on the unavailability list. Speaking at his pre-match press conference, the Liverpool boss said: “Milos had some niggles, he left training on Wednesday but I expect him to train today or tomorrow.”
