There could now be major"U-turn"at Liverpool regarding big FSG off-field decision

**FSG could now perform a massive “U-turn” and decide against increasing ticket prices, following the protests that have taken place in recent weeks.**

It isn’t only on the pitch where there has been unrest at Anfield this season, with the decision to increase ticket prices not going down at all well.

Protests have taken place inside and outside Anfield, with yellow cards held up by the crowd against Crystal Palace last weekend, as the pressure grows on FSG to change their mind.

Speaking to [_Football Insider_](https://www.footballinsider247.com/liverpool-owners-could-make-u-turn-on-ticket-price-hike-after-impressive-fan-protest/), former Everton CEO Keith Wyness could only praise the behaviour of the Liverpool supporters, saying it could have the desired outcome:

_“The Liverpool fans have got form for making Fenway Sports change their decisions on ticketing prices, and I’ve got to say I was very impressed with how well organised this protest was._

_“They had over 75,000 yellow cards handed out around the stadium for the fans, and it was a really impressive show that the Fenway Sports owners could not have ignored in any way, shape or form. And this not a pound in the ground campaign has been well-organised._

_“Overall, I’ve got to say hats off to the fans for making their presence felt. It’s something that Fenway Sports may have to do a U-turn on again. They’ve got to take the fans with them on that. What was interesting was the protest with the yellow cards was done in the 13th minute._

_“That’s because they thought overall it was going to be a 13% increase over the period of time. That’s a lot. That’s more than, if we’re saying 4% a year for three years, that’s inflation, then that’s still a hefty increase.”_

**Will FSG change their mind over Liverpool ticket prices?**

------------------------------------------------------------

FSG are stubborn owners, which is part of the reason for their huge success, so it will take a lot for them to budge when it comes to the ticket pricing.

That said, Liverpool fans have forced them into changes in the past, and given the level of the current outcry, the same could easily happen again.

There is already some unhappiness about Arne Slot likely staying on as the Reds’ head coach, following a poor season, so FSG may be wary of creating a mutiny.

Upping the ticket costs feels so needless, at a time when the cost of living his expensive, and football supporters up and down the country need to be treated with far more respect.
