Report: The role Arne Slot played in Mo Salah's Liverpool exit

Mohamed Salah is leaving Liverpool at the end of the current season.

This time last year Richard Hughes was toasting a new £400k per week contract extension for the Egyptian King.

Salah was just coming to the end of a stunning individual campaign - winning the Premier League’s player of the year award as well as the top scorer and playmaker gongs.

It felt like a no-brainer to secure the two-time African footballer of the year to a deal until 2027.

And matters came to a head back in winter when Salah was left out of Arne Slot’s lineup for three games in a row. Salah blasted the club in a post-game interview at Elland Road - leading to a demotion from the matchday squad.

And while relations have been patched up to an extent the row is the reason behind Salah having his contract torn up. Rather than leaving in 2027 the legendary attacker will be departing at the end of this season instead.

Various reports this week have detailed that Salah approached club managementabout the possibility of ending the relationship early.
