Arne Slot has insisted that any criticism aimed in his direction is not for him to judge, as FSG’s backing of the head coach was reiterated.
With 17 defeats in all competitions, Liverpool’s season has been a huge disappointment, leading to speculation over Slot’s future with no new contract forthcoming.
A merry-go-round of manager moves in the summer is expected across the Premier League, but reports in England continue to maintain that FSG are backing Slot for a third season.
The *Times*‘ Paul Joyce is the latest to reiterate that Slot “retains the backing of Fenway Sports Group,” with a belief that he “deserves the opportunity of a third season in charge” after “unforeseen challenges.”
Joyce goes on to state that “FSG feels that the coach who won the Premier League title in his first term in charge has not disappeared.”
That belief, however, is caveated with proving the “faith is not misplaced.”

With no obvious identity or philosophy, supporters have quickly lost patience and criticism has mounted in the direction of Liverpool’s head coach throughout the campaign.
It has been a dramatic fall after the title triumph, but Slot was not prepared to assess whether he’s been harshly judged because of his debut season success.
“I think that’s for you guys to judge (if he’s been too harshly judged),” he told reporters. “If I’ve been too hardly judged by many people, that’s not up to me.
“I’m judging my football players if they play well, if they work hard enough, if they execute tactics well enough.

“And I’m not in this job to judge if I’m criticised too harshly or too much or too little. That’s not the way I spend my time on a daily basis.”
With talk of adding to his coaching staff and the insistence he is involved in plans for the summer transfer window, there has been little suggestion from Slot that he will be anywhere but Anfield next season.
