Manchester City are hoping that John Stones can play a part in the club's title race with Arsenal. Pep Guardiola's side will travel to Hill Dickinson Stadium to face Everton on Monday night in a crucial clash for the Premier League trophy.

City have clawed back a seven-point gap from Arsenal after being 10 points behind just a month ago. The Gunners are three points ahead as it stands and can open up a six-point gap if they beat Fulham on Saturday night and City fail to beat the Toffees.

However, Guardiola will aim for his side to stay in the title race for as long as possible, with Mikel Arteta's men still contending with a Champions League semi-final. The Spaniard is hoping to have some of his key players returning for the run-in.

Here, takes a look at the latest City injury news and potential return dates.

John Stones

Pep Guardiola is hoping John Stones can have an impact on City's remaining fixtures after confirming the centre-back's departure at the end of the season. Stones will bring the curtain down on a decade-long career at the Etihad Stadium and is fit to play a part in what could turn out to be a majorly successful season.

Discussing the 31-year-old's impact, Guardiola said: "He was the best player by far in the final in Istanbul, that means his huge personality. Now he feels fit and hopefully he can fight the physical rhythm to be ready.

"Like Bernardo, part of ourselves is leaving. The contribution has been massive, he's an incredible person on and off the pitch. I'm really pleased. With Bernardo, I'm so grateful to live many years here with a person like John."

Potential return date: Everton (A) - May 4 - Premier League

Rodri

Rodri has had a disrupted 2025/26 season with City after missing the previous campaign with an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear. Groin and hamstring issues kept him out of fixtures at the beginning of the year, but the Ballon d'Or winner had built up a run of steam at the start of 2026.

The midfielder had started 11 consecutive league games between January and April, but an injury in the win over Arsenal kept him out of two recent fixtures against Burnley and Southampton.

Guardiola insists the 29-year-old is recovering well but hasn't trained with the squad. A late call will be made regarding Rodri's inclusion in the squad to face Everton.

The City boss said: "He is getting better. Still he hasn’t trained so we will see in the next few days. Always I am confident."

Potential return date: Brentford (H) - May 9 - Premier League

Ruben Dias

The defender is in the same boat as Rodri after missing team training with the squad. Dias has been absent with a thigh injury since the middle of March but is building towards a return.

Guardiola said: "He is not yet with the team, but he is getting better."

Josko Gvardiol continues to recover from his leg injury after fracturing his tibia in January. The impressive defender has been out since City's 1-1 draw with Chelsea and underwent surgery to fix the issue.

He has steadily been building towards a return but Everton is likely to come too soon for the 24-year-old. When discussing Gvardiol alongside other absentees, Guardiola said: "Him [Dias] Josko and Rodri. They're better."

Potential return date: Aston Villa (H) - May 24 - Premier League
