Ajax wonderkid Mika Godts has broken his silence on a potential summer transfer amid strong links to Arsenal and other suitors.

The 20-year-old has been crowned Talent of the Month for April by ESPN, just days after going viral on social media with a spectacular goal against NAC Breda.

Scouts from Arsenal and Chelsea were reportedly in attendance to witness that goal in the flesh, and they were awed by what they saw from Godts, who has been Ajax's lifeline this season.

The Belgium international is the Amsterdam club's golden boy, and interest in acquiring his services is ramping up in the final weeks of the season.

Scouts from Arsenal, Chelsea and FC Barcelona will be present during the match against PSV on Saturday evening. At an earlier stage, Godts was also linked to clubs such as Man Utd and Newcastle.

Godts not desperate to leave

Ajax want to prevent Godts from leaving this coming summer. Previously, there were rumours of an asking price of €32 million. However, it is not inconceivable that the Eredivisie giants have since set their demands higher.

Godts is under contract with Ajax until 2029 and, according to the FootballTransfers algorithm, has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €25.6m.

Speaking to ESPN after receiving his award, Godts responded to suggestions that he is already too good for the Eredivisie and insisted that he is not currently considering a transfer.

"I’ve heard about it, but fortunately, this is not decided in a TV studio. The people within the club and at other clubs decide that. So much is involved that I don't even know. I hope to experience a great World Cup first, and then I’ll just come back here to hit the ground running next season."

It is not the first time Godts has hinted that a move away is not on his mind. He previously revealed that he only wanted to leave once he had won a trophy with Ajax. Since Godts became part of the Amsterdam club's first team, they have not yet managed to attain silverware.

Although Godts himself says he does not need to leave, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, there is still a strong chance that he will make a transfer this coming summer.
