Newcastle United legend Chris Waddle believes that his former club should demand a fee of at least €115 million (£100m) for Arsenal target Anthony Gordon during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Gordon, 25, has been heavily linked with a St James’ Park exit in recent weeks and he is one of several forwards on Arsenal’s shortlist of targets as they look to bolster the attacking options at Mikel Arteta’s disposal ahead of next season.
The England international is also wanted by Bayern Munich and Chelsea, as per reports, but Waddle has admitted that it will take a huge fee to tempt Newcastle into a sale this summer.
Speaking on behalf of Genting Casino, where players can enjoy a diverse selection of slots including Football Cash Collect Slot" href="https://www.gentingcasino.com/casino/slots/football-cash-collect/" target="_blank">Football Cash Collect Slot, the ex-Newcastle winger told FootballTransfers: “If Alexander Isak went for £125m (€145m), you’ve got to be looking at £100m (€115m) for Anthony Gordon.
“He’s young, he’s only going to get better, you would think, so there’s no reason why Newcastle can’t ask for £100m+ in modern day football.
“He scores goals, he creates chances and if I were Newcastle, he’s got four years left on his contract, I’d say, ‘he’s not for sale.’
“If he wants to leave, I’d say, ‘put a transfer request in.’ And then say, ‘you’re not leaving unless it’s over £100m’.”

Analysis: How much is Anthony Gordon worth?
While Waddle believes that Newcastle should demand at least €115m for Gordon, which would make him the third-most expensive English player in history behind Jack Grealish and Declan Rice, his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at just €51.9m.
As a result, Arsenal would be massively overpaying if they agree to spend over double that figure to secure Gordon’s signature ahead of next season.
However, the England star boasts proven Premier League experience, which is extremely attractive, and he has registered 22 goal contributions in 46 appearances across all competitions so far this season, despite Newcastle’s struggles.
FootballTransfers understands that Arsenal are expected to submit a formal bid for Gordon when the summer transfer window opens" href="https://www.footballtransfers.com/en/transfer-news/uk-premier-league/2026/04/exclusive-arsenal-ready-anthony-gordon-bid-as-arteta-targets-english-core" target="_blank">FootballTransfers understands that Arsenal are expected to submit a formal bid for Gordon when the summer transfer window opens, although the Gunners have also identified a number of alternative targets, including RB Leipzig starlet Yan Diomande.
Arteta’s side are in the market for a new full-back and a new central midfielder too, with fellow Newcastle stars Valentino Livramento and Sandro Tonali also on their radar.
