Liverpool have their eyes set on Napoli’s Sam Beukema ahead of the summer window.
He came up through the ranks of Go Ahead Eagles’ youth system and spent four years with their first team before leaving for AZ Alkmaar in July 2021.
The Dutchman joined the latter months after Arne Slot stepped down from his role as their manager.
In July 2023, AZ Alkmaar sold him to Bologna, who then sold him to Napoli for €31m last summer. The defender has played 2,034 minutes from 30 matches under Antonio Conte’s orders.
His Serie A stats this season are as follows:
Appearances: 22
Starts: 16
Total minutes played: 1,506
Minutes per game: 68
Interceptions per game: 0.6
Tackles per game: 0.9
Recoveries per game: 2.8
Clearances per game: 2.5
Blocked shots per game: 0.5
Duels won per game: 2.5
Liverpool offer for Dutchman
Napoli are planning to reshape their squad in the next window and want to offload players. Antonio Conte’s side have already identified a few candidates, and Sam Beukema is first on that list.
That’s according to Area Napoli, and their title states ‘Liverpool offer €28m’ for the defender.
The 27-year-old is on the exit ramp and Conte won’t oppose his sale.
Taking the amortisation of the €31m fee into account, a €28m bid from the Reds would allow Napoli to make €9-10m capital gain.
All parties seem to be in favour of a move and therefore, Beukema’s transfer is ‘absolutely possible’.
Last month, Sport Witness covered claims from Italy pushing Tottenham Hotspur as an option for him.
Contract, value and agent info
Sam Beukema contract lasts until 2030 and Transfermarkt value him at €25m.
