Aston Villa eyeing move to sign 'incredible' PSG star as summer plan emerges - report

Aston Villa are monitoring Paris Saint-Germain forward Ibrahim Mbaye ahead of the summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The West Midlands side are bracing themselves for another busy transfer window in which they are expected to rejuvenate Unai Emery’s squad.

Villa will reportedly target younger players this summer, and Mbaye is among those they admire as they prepare for Morgan Rogers’ potential departure.

The England international is likely to be targeted by Premier League rivals after the season, despite putting pen to paper on a new long-term contract in November.

According to the Daily Mail, a summer deal for Mbaye will not be easy for Villa, given that several other clubs are also interested in the 18-year-old forward.

PSG, meanwhile, are in a strong negotiating position, with Mbaye’s contract running for another two years.

Capable of playing on either flank, Mbaye is likely to be included in Senegal’s squad for the World Cup after helping the Teranga Lions reach the Africa Cup of Nations final in January.

The 18-year-old made six appearances in the tournament, registering three goal contributions.

Mbaye has largely struggled for regular opportunities at PSG this season, making just nine starts in Ligue 1 and scoring once.

He has featured only six times since returning from AFCON and was left on the bench in all of PSG’s Champions League knockout-stage matches so far.

Mbaye made his PSG debut last season and was part of the squad that lifted the historic treble, winning Ligue 1, the Coupe de France and the Champions League.

The 'incredible' 18-year-old has made 39 senior appearances for PSG to date, scoring twice.

Aston Villa Hold Talks for Rangers Star

Aston Villa are among a host of Premier League clubs pushing to sign promising Rangers midfielder Bailey Rice this summer.

According to reports, the West Midlands side have already held initial talks with Rice’s representatives and presented a pathway designed to accelerate his progression at senior level.

Rice is expected to leave Rangers upon the expiry of his contract in June, having grown frustrated by the lack of consistent opportunities in the first-team squad.

Since joining the Rangers academy from Motherwell in 2022, the 19-year-old has made 16 appearances for the club, including one cameo this season.
