Liverpool, Man Utd offered chance to sign Portuguese star for£43m by his agents

**Liverpool are among the Premier League clubs that have been offered the chance to sign AC Milan forward Rafael Leao this summer, with the Portuguese forward available for just £43.1m.**

The Reds are among Europe’s elite clubs seeking top-class attacking reinforcement, with Mohamed Salah set to take his leave in the summer transfer window.

The Egyptian will leave the club for free, with the day now arriving when Liverpool will need to replace him. It’s an almost impossible task. In his nine years at Anfield, the former AS Roma star has been directly involved in 379 goals and will leave as a bona fide legend.

However, that makes replacing him all the more difficult.

Leao has been touted for months as a potential incoming at Liverpool this summer, with his representatives now reaching out to Premier League clubs to inform of his availability in the market this year.

Transfer latest on Rafael Leao as agents offer him to Liverpool, Arsenal, Man Utd and Chelsea

According to an exclusive from [TEAMtalk](https://www.teamtalk.com/manchester-united/rafael-leao-transfer-news-man-utd-offered-ac-milan-star), Liverpool are one of several English top flight clubs that have been offered the chance to sign him on a cut price transfer.

The report states: _“AC Milan_ _forward  Rafael Leao has been offered to a number of top Premier League clubs, including  Manchester United, as uncertainty grows over his long-term future in Italy._

_“Further approaches have also been made to Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool. All three clubs have tracked Leao previously and continue to hold an appreciation for his qualities._

_“While the Serie A giants are keen to tie him down to fresh terms, TEAMtalk understands they would be open to letting Leao leave for a fee in the region of €50million (£43.1m / $58.7m) – a valuation that is already alerting clubs across Europe._

_“Sources indicate that intermediaries have begun actively exploring potential destinations for the Portugal international, assessing the market and sounding out interest among elite sides.”_

This season, the 26-year-old has 10 goals and 3 assists, which is less than Salah has managed in his worst season in nearly a decade.

Leao is a fantastic ball carrier, but he is not the elite goalscorer Liverpool need if they are to come close to replacing the impact Salah has had in wide areas all these years.
