Trent Alexander-Arnold has bestowed the highest honor upon ex-Liverpool colleague Mohamed Salah by placing him on par with Steven Gerrard.
Salah's nine-year Anfield chapter will conclude this season, following his March announcement of his departure. The 33-year-old Egyptian reached an understanding with the club to end the substantial two-year contract he signed merely 12 months earlier.
This decision follows a difficult campaign marked by a public disagreement with Arne Slot during a spell of disappointing performances in December, when he accused the club of throwing him under the bus. Nevertheless, Salah retains legendary status among Liverpool supporters, thanks to the extraordinary achievements he delivered since joining from Roma.

Salah's achievements include two Premier League titles and Champions League glory. His departure will see him ranked as the club's third-highest scorer of all time, cementing his legacy as a genuine icon.
This sentiment is echoed by former colleague Alexander-Arnold, who departed for Real Madrid last summer.
The right-back joined numerous prominent figures, including Jurgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola, Erling Haaland, and Declan Rice, in paying tribute to Salah through Sky Sports before his summer departure.

In his brief video statement, Alexander-Arnold boldly placed Salah alongside Liverpool legend Gerrard among his personal Anfield greats. The defender remarked: "For me, I have always said Stevie is the No. 1, but I would put them both in the No. 1 spot now, for sure."
Alexander-Arnold and Salah forged a close bond, featuring in 319 fixtures together for Liverpool while building a remarkable understanding on and off the pitch.
Salah defended the Real Madrid player last year when he faced criticism after announcing his departure from his boyhood club on a free transfer — a decision that drew jeers from Liverpool supporters.
"I think somehow the fans were being harsh with him," Salah told Sky Sports at the time. "I think he didn't deserve it at the time; he deserved the fans to treat him the best way possible because he gave it all to the fans.
"We shouldn't act this way with anyone who always appreciates the people who came here even for six months. Imagine someone who gives you his all for 20 years. It shouldn't be like this. I hope that will change in the next game because he deserves the farewell."

"He is the only person that I cried for when he left the club. I cried with his mum, Me, him and his mum. I was crying," Salah disclosed more recently.
The Egyptian forward also confirmed when questioned about missing Alexander-Arnold: "I do miss him. We text from time to time. I really wish him the best.
"Yeah, you know, being in a place for 20 years is not easy, and he's still 25 or 26. So he had to go."
