Mohamed Salah includes England trio when naming his most underrated Liverpool teammates ever

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah was recently interviewed by legendary midfielder Steven Gerrard ahead of leaving Anfield, and he's now named his four most underrated teammates from his time at the Merseyside club.

Salah confirmed earlier in the season that he would be leaving the club in the summer, despite having a year left on his contract.

The Egyptian international has struggled to hit the heights expected of him this season, and he's now opted for a move away from the club after an incredible period.

Salah has won everything there is to win during his time on Merseyside, playing with some of the best players in the world during that period.

Mohamed Salah's Four Most Underrated Liverpool Stars

Mohamed Salah

Speaking to former Liverpool midfielder Gerrard, Salah named his four most underrated team-mates during his time at the club.

The Liverpool legend named Trent Alexander-Arnold, Gini Wijnaldum, James Milner and Jordan Henderson.

"I think people didn't know how good Alexander-Arnold is – but I do think he gets a lot of credit, so I would say Gini Wijnaldum, and Milly (James Milner) and (Jordan Henderson). Without them, we wouldn't have won anything."

Salah suggested that Liverpool wouldn't have won anything without the aforementioned quartet, and maybe some of the names are slightly surprising.

Henderson and Milner, although not superstar names, would undoubtedly offer a lot to Liverpool on and off the pitch in terms of their leadership and experience. Many have previously questioned the footballing ability of both Milner and Henderson, but there's a reason players like Salah enjoy playing with them so much, and managers like Jurgen Klopp consistently pick them.

Salah Particularly Complimentary of Henderson

Jordan Henderson

Salah was particularly complimentary of former Liverpool captain Henderson.

The Egyptian international has hinted that Henderson deserves something special in terms of a send-off with Liverpool playing against Brentford in the final game of the season.

"I think last game of the season against Brentford, people in the city knows how much it meant to Hendo also, being captain of the club, being here for 12 years – more than me, more than Virg, more than Robbo, more than anyone.

"He didn't get the send-off that he deserved because he left suddenly. I don't know how the club is going to manage it.

"I have no plans, and I don't know how the supporters will also manage it, but I really wish they do something special for him, because he's been one of the best players in this club."

Henderson is the type of player that will be remembered fondly and positively by Liverpool supporters but is perhaps underrated by the wider football community.

Only those who played with him will truly know the benefit he can bring to the side on and off the pitch.
