Exclusive: Gordon is worth the money

Newcastle legend Chris Waddle has told FootballTransfers that Anthony Gordon is a £100 million (€115m) player.

The England winger has been strongly linked with Arsenal, Bayern and Chelsea in recent weeks, while a fee of potentially up to €92m has been touted. Waddle, however, believes that the Magpies would be well within their rights to demand north of €100m.

"He’s young, he’s only going to get better, you would think, so there’s no reason why Newcastle can’t ask for £100m+ in modern-day football... If he wants to leave, I’d say, ‘put a transfer request in.’ And then say, ‘you’re not leaving unless it’s over £100m.’"

Exclusive: More needed from Nwaneri

Waddle, who played for Marseille in the early 1990s, also told FootballTransfers that Arsenal loanee Ethan Nwaneri "needs to do a bit more."

The teenager has fallen out of favour at Marseille following the departure of Roberto de Zerbi. Nwaneri has struggled to get on the pitch under Habib Beye and has been frequently criticised by both the coach and the French press.

"For me, looking at him, we know he’s got talent, but he’s got to add more to his game; he’s not the finished product," Waddle explained. "That isn’t going to get you through a football career at the very top, you need to add more to your game.

"That will be something that he’s hopefully looked at and learned when he goes back to Arsenal."

Villa to demand "Wirtz-style" Rogers fee

Aston Villa will use Liverpool's €125m acquisition of Florian Wirtz as a benchmark for their price tag for Morgan Rogers, TEAMtalk claims.

The Birmingham club accept that Rogers will leave the club this summer, and they themselves are not opposed to a sale due to the need to raise funds for incoming transfers. Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd have all been strongly linked with the England star.

However, Villa will not offer any discounts on their marquee forward. They want a fee well in excess of €100m for Rogers this summer because they believe that Rogers is among the best attacking midfielders in football.

Goretzka a big opportunity

Fabrizio Romano has described Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka as a "big opportunity" this summer.

The Germany international is out of contract and has been attracting interest from Serie A. Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Tottenham have also been linked with the veteran midfielder. So far, he has not yet picked his next club.

"There are some important financial offers on the table from clubs without a huge tradition, and my understanding is that Goretzka’s priority would be more for clubs that can compete and that have tradition, rather than just money," Romano said.

"Of course, money matters, but it is not the only thing. Italian clubs are calling, not only Italian clubs. Atletico wanted him in January, too. So there will be plenty of movement around Goretzka. He is leaving Bayern on a free transfer, so this is a big opportunity in midfield and definitely one to watch."

Endrick not available

Romano has also confirmed that Real Madrid are planning to reintegrate Endrick into their first team after his loan at Lyon.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was recently described as a "big admirer" of the Brazilian, and it was claimed that Endrick could be on the move this summer. However, Romano is hearing something different.

He claims that Real Madrid are content with his development, even though he has been hit-and-miss in Ligue 1 since his January move. They believe that he will get game time for the first team next season.

Godts unfazed by speculation

Ajax wonderkid Mika Godts insists that he is not thinking about a transfer and that he could stay in Amsterdam beyond this summer.

The Belgian is being scouted by numerous European giants, including several teams from the Premier League such as Arsenal and Chelsea. Romano has claimed that Godts is all but guaranteed to take the next step in his career this summer.

However, the winger claims that his current priority is to have a successful World Cup and to "hit the ground running" at Ajax next term. "I hope to experience a great World Cup first, and then I’ll just come back here to hit the ground running next season," he told ESPN.
