Manchester United Team News
Michael Carrick provided an update on the status of United’s number 10, Mattheus Cunha, stating that he’s “hopeful” that he could feature in Manchester United vs Liverpool after returning to training this week. Cunha missed Monday night’s game against Brentford with a hip flexor issue, although it doesn’t appear to be a serious injury.
Carrick didn’t give an update on Luke Shaw, who suffered an injury against Brentford; however, he did note that the squad was in “good shape”.
Matthijs de Ligt remains out of action.

Liverpool Team News
Arne Slot also spoke to the media ahead of Sunday’s fixture and provided updates on his team.
The Dutchman stated that Mo Salah, who will be leaving the club at the end of the season, will not take part in his final game for Liverpool against Manchester United due to a “minor injury”. Slot described the severity of Salah’s injury as a “big relief” as it isn’t as bad as first imagined.
He also provided an update on Brazilian goalkeeper, Alisson Becker, stating that the shot stopper is “close” to training with the group and therefore won’t be taking part on Sunday. He didn’t comment on the fitness of Giorgi Mamardashvili, and therefore, we can assume it will be Freddie Woodman in the net for Liverpool.
