Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson left Old Trafford feeling unwell before the Premier League fixture against Liverpool, the Press Association understands.
The 84-year-old, a regular attendee at matches both home and away, who was pictured on social media meeting guests at the ground, reportedly sought precautionary medical attention before the scheduled 3.30pm kick-off.
There were conflicting reports about the nature of his treatment, with some suggesting he was checked in an ambulance on site and others saying he was taken to hospital.
