Former Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson left Old Trafford feeling unwell before the Premier League fixture against Liverpool, the Press Association understands.
The 84-year-old, a regular attendee at matches both home and away, who was pictured on social media meeting guests at the ground, reportedly sought precautionary medical attention before the scheduled 3.30pm kick-off.
There were conflicting reports about the nature of his treatment, with some suggesting he was checked in an ambulance on site and others saying he was taken to hospital.
United have been contacted for comment by PA.
