Sir Alex Ferguson is understood to be recovering after he was hospitalised. The legendary Manchester United manager was at Old Trafford for his former side's Premier League clash against Liverpool.
He was present to watch the match from the stands, as he often does when the Red Devils are in town. However, he was taken to hospital as a precaution, after feeling unwell while at the stadium. Before he was quickly ushered out to the stadium and to hospital, he was seen on social media embracing supporters and interacting with other members of staff at his former workplace.
When asked by the Press Association how Ferguson was faring after he became unwell at Old Trafford, a source close to the iconic Scotsman said he was "Okay."
It's understood Ferguson was initially assessed by on-site medics in the tunnel area of the ground, where he first started feeling unwell. As a precaution, he was whisked out of the stadium and driven to hospital.
Considering how much he enjoys watching the club, Ferguson surely would have found a way to watch the match on television or one of his devices, even if he had to tune in from the hospital. If he did, he would have seen Michael Carrick's side wrap up their place in next season's Champions League.
