One of the most impressive aspects of Paris Saint-Germain’s squad over the past two seasons has been its attack, and now, one of the key goal scorers could be prepared to leave the French capital.
Bradley Barcola arrived at PSG in 2023 following a move from Olympique Lyonnais. Since then, the Frenchman has scored 38 goals and recorded 37 assists in all competitions in 147 appearances. Along with Ousmane Dembélé, Désiré Doué, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Barcola has been a key part of PSG’s potent attack.
With PSG one game away from another UEFA Champions League final appearance, it has become increasingly clear that Barcola is not a regular starter for the club’s biggest matches. That could be a reason why some of the top clubs are looking to see if Barcola may be ready for a new challenge.
The Times (via Empire of the Kop) reports that Liverpool will likely target Barcola this summer. It makes sense for the Premier League side to be interested in the 23-year-old. Mohamed Salah is expected to leave this summer, and after a disappointing season, the Reds will be looking to improve their attack.
However, Liverpool won’t be without competition for Barcola’s signature. TEAMtalk reports that several other teams across Europe are monitoring the situation, including Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Borussia Dortmund.
Barcola is currently under contract until June 2028, so there’s no need for PSG to entertain offers if they don’t want to, but it would likely be the opportune time to maximize his transfer value. PSG could reinvest the transfer fee by signing a player like Maghnes Akliouche from AS Monaco.
