Former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann believes that Mohamed Salah’s lack of output would hinder his chances of staying in the Premier League as his exit from the Reds looms closer.
Salah, who will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the 2025/26 campaign, has been a shadow of his former self this season en-route to scoring only seven times in 25 Premier League appearances so far.
Overall, Salah managed to net 12 goals in all competitions, a low number considering his reputation of being one of Europe’s most prolific scorers. Hamann thus believes that the Saudi Pro League, MLS or Serie A will be decent options going forward.
“I’m not sure in the Premier League whether there are any takers,” Hamann told BetKing, as per GOAL.
“I think it’s no secret that he’s past his best. If you look at the last 18 months, he’s only scored a handful of goals from open play since the Christmas before last.
“So I’d be surprised if there are any takers in the Premier League. I think Saudi, MLS, or maybe Italy are the most likely destinations.”
