Liverpool are said to be the most “attentive” club when it comes to potentially signing Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola this summer.
Mohamed Salah’s imminent exit from Anfield has heightened the need for a new wide man at the end of the season, if not two, given Cody Gakpo’s lack of form, too.
RB Leipzig star Yan Diomande has been constantly linked with a summer move to Liverpool, with Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon has also been mentioned as an option plenty of times.
Now, a new report from TEAMtalk claims that the Merseysiders are the most ‘attentive” to the signing of Barcola, should PSG allow him to leave.
The £100m+ rated Champions League winner is one of two wingers who Liverpool want to bring in ahead of next season, and they are waiting to see if he signs a contract extension.
It is also stated PSG “want to give Barcola a new contract, but his representatives are clearly looking to shop around and find the best club for him – which the Reds seemingly believe they are.”
Can Bradley Barcola be Liverpool’s next great winger?
Barcola is part of a sensational PSG attack, and the fact that he finds it hard to be a regular starter could ultimately be a boost for Liverpool, who would be able to make him a key man.
The 23-year-old is such a huge talent, being capable of shining on both flanks and bagging 75 goal contributions in 147 appearances for PSG, as well as being lauded by Luis Enrique in the past:
“It is a clear bet from the club when we go out and find such a young player, a youth international, with a big personality and the quality to burst out. He has quite a few minutes for being in a team like ours. He incarnates the present and the future. On Saturday evening, he was superb, the most decisive player in one-on-one situations and he scored an exceptional goal too.”
It won’t be easy for Liverpool to sign Barcola, given his price tag, the level of interest in him and the fact that he might choose to stay at PSG, but there is no doubting that he would be a fantastic signing and a potential future great for the Reds.
