Manchester City defender Marc Guéhi made a real blunder in the 68th minute away to Everton. Guéhi played a far too loose back pass to goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma; Thierno Barry capitalised on the pass and easily scored to make it 1–1.
That mistake was the start of City's collapse.
Five minutes later, Jake O'Brien met a left-footed corner at the front post and headed in to make it 2–1.
In the 82nd minute, the next blow came when substitute Barry had an open goal and easily scored his second of the evening to make it 3–1.
Manchester City reduced the deficit immediately after kick-off. Striker Erling Braut Haaland ran through and, with his 25th goal of the season, the Norwegian consolidated his lead in the Premier League's scoring charts.
In the end, City also scored an equalizer. In the seventh minute of added time, Jérémy Doku - who also scored to make it 1–0 - scored the 3–3 goal.
However, City are losing ground in the table. Even though Manchester have played one game fewer than Arsenal, the London club is now five points ahead.
Arsenal have three games left to play and City have four.
