Latest Liverpool injuries and return dates
Liverpool hosts Chelsea in its penultimate home match of the Premier League season on Saturday, with Arne Slot dealing with several injury uncertainties.
The Dutchman had to name a slightly makeshift line-up against Manchester United last weekend, which did not contain a striker, while the substitutes’ bench featured five teenagers.
However, Slot will hope a number of his absentees return this weekend for a meeting with a beleaguered Chelsea side that has its own injury woes at present and fell to a devastating 3-1 loss to Nottingham Forest on Monday. Here’s the latest on Liverpool’s injuries and possible return dates.

Alisson
The goalkeeper has not played since March 18 due to a hamstring problem and has been working his way back to full fitness in recent weeks. Alisson has been in contention to feature in each of the last two games but ultimately missed out. Arne Slot said in a pre-match interview at Old Trafford that he hoped his no.1 would be back to face Chelsea this weekend.
Possible return date: Saturday vs Chelsea
Alexander Isak
The striker picked up a training-ground knock ahead of the United game, described as a “very small” injury by Slot, who added he was hopeful the former Newcastle man would be back for Saturday’s match.

Mohamed Salah
Sustained a minor muscle injury against Crystal Palace that ruled him out of the United game. Salah is expected to return by at least the final game of the season, although the Egyptian said in a recent interview that he hopes to be back before then. This weekend feels too soon, but Salah could even play against Aston Villa next week.

Giorgi Mamardashvili
The 25-year-old picked up an injury in the recent win over Everton, which Slot originally claimed would keep him out for a few weeks. There has been no update on the goalkeeper since, but he is not expected back for the Chelsea game. Slot could provide further clarity in Friday’s press conference.
