Chelsea add world-class manager to shortlist - he wants the job

Chelsea have added Xavi to their list of names to become their next manager, according to the Independent.

The Blues are second from bottom of the Premier League's form table with no points from their last five matches and with just one win and two draws in their last ten.

Their disastrous form led to the sacking of Liam Rosenior after just three months in charge, but caretaker boss Calum McFarlane, in his second stint in the dugout this season, has not been able to reverse the club's fortunes.

Chelsea were thrashed 3-1 by a much-changed Nottingham Forest side on Monday to leave themselves ninth in the table and staring down the barrel of a season witout European football next season.

And, according to Miguel Delaney, they have turned their attentions for former Bareclona boss Xavi as they make plans for an important summer on and off the pitch.
