Mo Salah steps up injury recovery with new update from the AXA

Mo Salah‘s efforts to return from a hamstring injury continued at the AXA Training Centre on Tuesday, with the Egyptian taking a picture of himself in the gym.

Salah missed the defeat at Old Trafford with a minor hamstring injury, though he was in the stands as his teammates succumbed to a 3-2 defeat.

The No. 11 will play again before his Liverpool career comes to an end, but it remains to be seen which of the final three fixtures will herald his return.

In true Salah fashion, his unrelenting commitment and professionalism took him to the AXA Training Centre on Tuesday, with the 33-year-old sharing a shirtless picture in the gym on Instagram.

He will be continuing his rehabilitation programme using the club’s state-of-the-art facilities, not that he is without his personal pool and sauna at home!

It is conceivably a day off for Liverpool’s first-team squad after playing on Sunday afternoon, with the starters at Old Trafford likely to have undertaken a recovery session on Monday.

But Salah’s post could be interpreted a number of ways in the aftermath of his comments to various media outlets last week, which saw him share his concerns for the culture at the club.

He told Steven Gerrard during an interview with TNT Sports: “I spoke to a member of staff and also the guys up there, I told them, ‘When I leave you need an example here. You need people to come early and go to the gym’.

“If this doesn’t happen, it will be tricky for the club, because it’s very necessary you put the standards high.”

Salah has long been the first to arrive and the last player to leave, setting a standard that demanded others follow, and it is paramount that the baton is passed on when he departs.

That it is of concern to the Egyptian should put Liverpool on notice in the weeks leading up to his exit.

Slot will offer an update on Salah’s recovery on Friday ahead of Chelsea‘s visit, with the latest on Alisson and Alexander Isak also expected after they missed the defeat to Man United.
