With Marc Guiu’s Chelsea career currently hanging in the balance, the club’s impending managerial decision could provide the unexpected lifeline the young striker.
After a brief loan stint at Sunderland, Marc Guiu was recalled to Chelsea in September, but he has struggled to break into the senior side.
Throughout this campaign, Guiu has found himself largely on the periphery, rarely featuring in the Premier League and often left out of the matchday squad entirely. His limited time on the pitch has been marked by a failure to record a league goal, contributing to a sense of stagnation for the young forward.
Now twenty years old, Guiu finds his future at Stamford Bridge in serious doubt, with reports indicating he is keen on a move back to Spain this summer to secure regular playing time.

Chelsea add Xavi to managerial list
According to the Independent, Xavi is becoming a more prominent target for Chelsea in their managerial search, alongside three other names.
Xavi’s managerial career began impressively at Al Sadd, where he secured seven trophies in under three years. He then returned to his former club, Barcelona, in November 2021, leading them to a La Liga title and the Spanish Super Cup.
However, his tenure ended on a disappointing note, with his final season marked by a lack of trophies and inconsistent performances.
And since departing Barcelona in May 2024, Xavi has spent the last 18 months away from the game, deliberately turning down various offers as he waits for an ambitious project.

Marc Guiu set for a lifeline at Chelsea
Marc Guiu’s breakthrough at Barcelona under Xavi remains a fairytale moment in the youngster’s career.
Handed his debut during an injury crisis in October 2023, the 17-year-old striker famously scored the winning goal against Athletic Bilbao just 34 seconds after coming off the bench.
Xavi consistently praised the forward’s spark and fearless attitude, frequently integrating him into the senior squad alongside other academy prospects.
Over the course of seven appearances, Guiu showcased his clinical finishing and potential, scoring two goals during that time, and was full of confidence.
