Liverpool injury news on Mo Salah, Alexander Isa, Alisson Becker and more.
Liverpool return to action when they welcome Chelsea to Anfield on Saturday.
The Reds have three games remaining and have still to secure Champions League qualification. A 3-2 loss at the hands of Manchester United last weekend did head coach Arne Slot no favours in terms of the sections of supporters calling for his head.
Slot did have significantly depleted numbers against United, with 10 players missing the Old Trafford encounter.
With three points required to book Liverpool’s spot in next season’s Champions League, Slot will be hoping that can be achieved against a Chelsea side in freefall. The Reds will be hoping they can get some of their players back to availability for the fixture.
Here’s a current look at Liverpool’s injury list and who might make a return.
Mo Salah - hamstring
Liverpool’s third all-time top scorer could only watch on from the Old Trafford stands as he was denied a final outing against United. Salah is set to be back before the season’s end but he will not want to risk another issue given the World Cup takes place this summer.
Potential return game: Chelsea (H), Saturday 9 May or or Aston Villa (A), Sunday 17 May
Alexander Isak - groin
After recently recovering from a broken leg which ruled him out for four months, Isak sustained a minor issue in training that ruled him out of the United game. Slot insisted that Isak will not miss the rest of the season but Liverpool will be cautious.
Potential return game: Chelsea (H), Saturday 9 May or Aston Villa (A), Sunday 17 May.
Alisson Becker - hamstring
The No.1 goalkeeper has missed the past eight games. Alisson was close to returning against United and that would suggest he should be back to face Chelsea.
Potential return game: Chelsea (H), Saturday 9 May.
Giorgi Mamardashvili - wound
The second-choice stopper sustained his problem when Beto accidentally collided with him when equalising in the 2-1 win over Everton. Mamardashvili had to go to hospital and is still recovering. Much will depend on how his cut heels.
Potential return game: Chelsea (H), Saturday 9 May or Aston Villa (A), Sunday 17 May.
Wataru Endo - ankle
The midfielder has been missing for the best part of three months after being stretchered off in a 1-0 win at Sunderland. Slot recently said Endo will be back before the end of the season but this weekend could come too soon.
Aston Villa (A), Sunday 17 May.
Conor Bradley - knee
The right-back continues his recovery from a serious injury. He has been sidelined for two-and-a-half months.
Potential return: Pre-season.
Giovanni Leoni - ACL
The summer signing from Parma is still on the mend after sustaining his unlucky problem on debut last September. Leoni has been photographed out on the grass at the AXA Training Centre.
Potential return: Pre-season
Hugo Ekitike - Achilles
The centre-forward went down innocuously against PSG. While Ekitike tried to continue three times, it was clear he was in too much pain. The suspensions are that Ekitike could spend potentially the rest of the year on the treatment table.
Potential return: N/A
Stefan Bajcetic - hamstring
It is approaching 11 months since the midfielder picked up his issue on loan at Las Palmas and required surgery. Bajcetic has had several setbacks and not made an appearance at any level this season.
Potential return game: N/A
Jayden Danns - hamstring
The striker suffered wretched luck on his return to action for the under-21s last month. Having been absent for around six months, Danns had to be forced off in the 29th minute of a clash against Man City. Young Reds boss Rob Page somewhat allayed fears but Liverpool are going to have to be careful and Slot may have to decide if he’s ready to make a first-team return if Danns overcomes his issue.
Potential return game: N/A
