Chelsea could lose out on two of their managerial targets to Crystal Palace

Chelsea are not the only Premier League club preparing to hire a new first team manager this summer, with Crystal Palace also looking at similar candidates.

The Blues will be looking for a permanent successor for Liam Rosenior after passing responsibilities on to Calum McFarlane until the end of the season.

Palace meanwhile will be losing Oliver Glasner despite his FA Cup triumph, and chance to follow Enzo Maresca in winning the Conference League.

Crystal Palace want Chelsea managerial targets Andoni Iraola and Marco Silva

Both sides appear to be factoring in Premier League experience when it comes to their next manager, with Andoni Iraola and Marco Silva some of those mentioned as possible candidates.

Both are reportedly on Chelsea’s list, however journalist Sebastien Vidal has stated that both are also wanted by Crystal Palace, with the Fulham boss a serious candidate in particular.

He said: “Upcoming movements on the benches in the Premier League. Marco Silva, tipped to leave Fulham, is a serious option for Crystal Palace. A choice far from secondary: Palace, FA Cup winners and possibly European-bound, ticks some real boxes.

“At the same time, Andoni Iraola (Bournemouth) is also on the shortlist… but Chelsea is keeping an eye out too. A game of musical chairs that’s shaping up to be strategic.”

Iraola is Behdad Eghbali’s early favourite for the job, with him set to be on the move away from Bournemouth at the end of the season.

Chelsea owners feeling the pressure ahead of managerial appointment

Those in charge of the club have started to admit that they have made some mistakes when it comes to managerial appointment and transfers in the past.

Eghbali has hinted there will be changes to the transfer policy, after supporters have cried out for more experience to be added to the squad.

The owners are feeling the heat when it comes to the new manager, preparing to take time in order to get the decision right.

As well as Premier League candidates, Xabi Alonso and Xavi have been mentioned as possible replacements for Rosenior.
