Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon “could sign a five-year contract” with Bayern Munich, according to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.
The reporter posted an update on his X account claiming that the Bundesliga champions are holding talks with the player’s representatives, but despite personal terms being discussed, Plettenberg said agreeing a transfer fee is still a big obstacle:

“Despite interest from other top clubs, FC Bayern have now presented Anthony Gordon and his camp with concrete figures. Gordon could sign a five-year contract at Bayern.”
“The main issue remains an agreement with Newcastle – not with the player. Bayern have clear limits. Eberl/Freund are therefore in talks with several candidates.”
How much are Newcastle demanding for the player?
It is believed that the Magpies have set an asking price between £75m and £80m, which is substantially more than Bayern are prepared to pay.
The German giants are said to be hoping to do a deal closer to £60m, which means there is a sizeable gap between the two parties’ valuations.

Are there any other clubs pursuing Gordon?
3 Premier League sides have shown varying levels of interest in the 25-year-old. Liverpool wanted to sign the forward in the summer of 2024, and they have been linked since that transfer collapsed. However, the Reds are not expected to reignite a move this summer.
Chelsea also have historical interest in Gordon, having tried to buy him before Newcastle. The Blues are thought to be keen on doing a deal, but any decisions on transfers will have to wait until a new manager is appointed.
The likeliest destination (other than Bayern ) is believed to be Arsenal. Manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly a big fan, but Gordon may not be the Gunners’ top target to strengthen the left flank.
